We are set apart. He has claimed us. We do not belong to ourselves. We are not even living for ourselves.
We are humanity. We are the epitome of sin and brokenness. But we have made the choice to give up control: give up our own lives. We will continue to make sacrifices for the rest of our earthly lives. They won't be easy.
How profound is the way of life to be dedicated to something other than the self?
For we throw aside all of our selfish concerns and desires for the glory of the Lord. We must become less, so He can become greater.
Our God came to us. He reached out to us in love and asked us to follow Him. The price was high: our earthly lives. But we accepted, and we lose our lives to gain them in Him. We are free.
We are not here for ourselves.
We are here for you, Lord.
